Here's the thing, these radical Black-Muslim groups have been around since the 1970s, they were a byproduct of the Hippie movement. The Black Panthers-Nation of Islam as prime example. Its not the first time they have been linked to violence, even anti-semitic violence. The thing is; they might act like muslim radicals, but they are really angier about Blacks are treated in the US then they are about about Radical Islam like al Qaeda.

Furthermore the hardcore groups like al-Qaeda really hate black people. They view them as sub-human scum just like the Nazis viewed the Jews. They are far more racist than groups like the KKK. Some of them still practice African slavery. I listened to an ex-al Qeada operative talk about the bombings in the US embassies in Africa. He said one of the things that shocked him into leaving the organization and turn states witness the most was listening to a senior al-qaeda member say that the 200 Africans killed that were innocent bystanders were of no consequence, the only thing they cared about was the number of dead Americans. And when he said no consqeuence he meant exactly that. They viewed the deaths of those 200 people as neither a victory nor defeat, they were completely emotionless. This person happened to be the witnesses own father. So groups like this are not really recognized by the real terrorists.

So don't sweat groups like this. The Bush Administration like to trot out these homegrown cases in order to scare us (by my count its the forth time) but these are the acts of individuals rather than some true movement as we seen in the Arab countries.

I get this question a lot. I am from NYC. I fly a French flag because I work for the Paris Office of a International company.
