No, that's not possible.
But if you don't like it then just ignore it and don't give others rep points either..

That really doesn't matter much since you can only get max 3 rep power in total..

I also realise that getting (x) number of negative points will not get you an automatic ban does that mean those rep points will not be used in determining a persons punishment for another infraction, if it does then those rep points are going to need close scrutiny by both the moderators and the people getting them which I suspect will lead to a lot more PMs to the forum admin.

No, the rep points wont be used for determining a "punishment" for another infration etc. at all since it's just a system for rating posts, not members...
But we will monitor the system itself and hand out infractions/bans for abuse of that system
