| Now,... I am not a lover of terrorists, Muslims, or foreign workers who come to Australia to take jobs that should be being done by Australians. But.... this man broke no Australian law, past or present.
When leaving England many months ago, he realised that the remaining points on his telephone SIM card would be of no use to him in Australia so he gave it to his cousin. This card was duly found when the investigators searched the residence (hundreds of miles away) of one of those terrorists who was involved in the Glasgow airport fiasco.
The Australian Federal Police and a number of other government agencies immediately went into high gear and arrested the original owner of the card. After two weeks of continual interrogation and imprisonment it was found in a court of law that no law had been broken.
Immediately there was a backlash from the political sector to cover the fact that they had made a complete and utter balls up of the matter. They then told the public that other matters had caused them to have this man's visa revoked and that he would immediately be taken to a detention camp and flown to India at the first available opportunity. Of course all lies are eventually found out and such was the case on this occasion, because the Australian public seem to have a good nose for smelling a rat. Instead of just letting the matter slide the public demanded answers and even though the Government tried their best to hide the matter it was all bought to light albeit too late to prevent his deportation.
Thoroughly convinced of his innocence his lawyer fought to have his name completely cleared, which he did.
I don't particularly want to see him back here, but not because he is a possible terrorist. I want our political masters put more money into education so we can train our own doctors.
I say, "Long live the Aussie ideal of Fair play for all". That is what makes this country worth living in.
