| China is currently under a socialist/ communist stage trying to change their image as a under developed country into a world super power. every year it's economy grows and so does it's military leaving the US to underestimate their true power. While some villages require aid (due to floods and other natural disasters) more and more of it's people r begining able to sustain themselves. And as the economy grows so does it's military. China want's taiwan and is willing to fight for it. Since it is under US protection, china sees them as a threat knowing that they have allies and bases in japan, south korea, taiwan, and throughout south asia. The US do not plan to give taiwan to china any time soon because of it's idea to stop the spread of communism. And they know china has large oil reserve along with huge supplies of natural gas and other resources. So all we need is some sort of event such as a missle aimed at taiwan to go off by accident and we will have a full scale war.
(China is also studying the events in iraq and is wondering why a country with all it's technology and training is having such difficulty controling resistance groups using out dated and old equipment.)
