Well Major, I pointed out some time ago that I believed the best way to go as far as regular IEDs is Bomb Blankets.
EOD Techs sit on Bomb Blankets while riding in areas deemed not very safe. I know a Tech who was hit in Afghan who was luckily on his Bomb Blanket when the HUMVEE he was in struck a rather large landmine on the way to an EOD Incident.

While the Bomb Blanket saved his limbs, and perhaps his life. The Blanket itself was sadly not long enough to go across the floorboard as well, and he lost many bones in both lower extremities as his boots were pushed, very rapidly, into his feet. The Tech driving, also on a Bomb Blanket, was not banged up very bad at all.
EOD gets Bomb Blankets, well EOD gets a lot of nice things, but I could not understand why Bomb Blankets were not used by other Troops as Bomb Blankets can be made to any shape, and then attached to the inside of a HUMVEE, attached in a way to allow movement when Explosive Force is applied, which in turn causes the Explosive Force to dissipate very fast over a larger area, taking the path of least resistance, just like water would do, while at the same time still leaving what’s inside the vehicle in tact, and protecting from steel and other debris flying around really fast.
The Bomb Blankets can also be detached so if a HUMVEE becomes inoperable, well the Blankets can be moved to another, and if need be Troops can use such if they have to Dismount and need protection from any number of hazards associated with the Combat Zone.
Combat Locks on doors will still help keep the fire from getting inside, and the Bomb Blankets can be attached in such a way as to layer and then direct the Blast overpressure away from the occupants of the vehicle.

But I was told simply thanks for the input, and that was that.
