A Tactical retreat shouldn't be something to be ashamed of, perhaps there were other factors not reported that played a part.
The attack was a failure but every cloud has a silver lining. It should improve the morale of the UK soldiers knowing how far their mates will go to bring them back if they're ever in a sticky situation.
Besides, i wouldn't call anyone who strapped themselves to an apache to rescue a wounded mate a loser. That took bloody balls!
