I find it kind of ironic that a nation entirely built on immigrants now fears immigration because it is ruining its heterogeneous structure.

This argument seems to be based on an assumption that the USA was at some point in its history a single culture that is now being eroded by immigration unfortunately that has not been the case since at least the arrival of the American Indian.

Arguments about the Mexican-isation of California are equally ludicrous as much of the south western USA was colonised by Mexicans and they have a far older claim to the area than the bunch of immigrant Europeans that trumped up reasons to expand their borders in the 1800's.
