| What I can't understand is how these people cover their previous lives so well. I had to update my clearance this year and the FBI asked questions of friends, family, teachers, professors, doctors, some people I had worked with within a ten year period. You declare bank accounts, debts, problems with drugs or alcohol, any foreign national, acquaintance or family. Previous clearances, what level and when it started and all times that it was stopped and for what reason. Prescription medications, especially for any mental reasons and can these lower my resistance to keeping secret information. Any criminal record, misdemeanors, or even arrests for any reason.
On and on and it gets more stringent with each upper level. So how does a communist spy walk in and steal, beg, borrow or buy State secrets?
