BAGHDAD, Sept 22, 2006 (AFP) - Insurgents killed a US soldier in western
Iraq's restive Sunni Al-Anbar province, the military said late Thursday.
The soldier died from wounds received in "enemy action" while operating in
the province.
The latest fatality brings the military's losses in Iraq since the March
2003 invasion to 2,688, according to an AFP count based on Pentagon figures.
