Personal opinion ... Big 12 commissioner Kevin Weiberg is a moron. I have no horse in this race and even I can tell that the team that SHOULD have won didn't, and it was strictly because of the officiating officials.

At a minimum, this game SHOULD have been stricken from the seasons record-book ... it should have become a 'no harm and no foul' game, as far as the colleges and the teams that played their hearts out were concerned.

The danger of this happening has long been recognized, but no one could have really foreseen this poor a quality of refereeing .. historically, officiating teams usually catch the 'major' 'obvious' mistakes.

This WILL be a MAJOR blot on ALL officials for a long time ... and it will NOT be confined just to the Big 12 / PAC 10 ... all leagues everywhere will be under close scrutiny for a very long time because of this poor showing, because an official is an official is an official.
