2. strategically speaking, Iraqi war is a mixed thing for China,
for its good side, U.S got bogged down in Iraq and had to pay less attention in Far East, where China could really work on "things" without getting much interference from U.S right now
for the down side, U.S is unable to really do something to keep the status quo of Taiwan-China right now (China and U.S both wnat status quo) as you have seen Taiwan's leader Chen just scrapped the unification council agasint the will of its people and will of both U.S and CHina. |
