It was not only America that was going to invade Japan, but besides that, Japan was was going to throw every man woman and child into defending their country. The results of could have led to the death of many millions lives on both sides. Also I knew a couple of chaps that were POW in Japan and where just out side Nagasaki when the bomb was dropped and they were being marched to an extermination camp when they saw bomb go off that saved their lives
