Well SwordFish_13! I can safely say that your professionalism is commendable!

I am not in the aero-nautics industry so I rely more on Military related media sources for PAF.

The engine of JF-17 Thunder is similar in every aspect to that of MIG 29 and it is being acquired from Russia by China. But the Airframe seems to be based on MIG 21 design with F-16A type modifications.

But it does not matters as the capabilities of this aircraft is more important for us and its design is flexible enough for future upgrades.

And the purchase price of this aircraft even after major enhancements has reached $15 million a unit. The other aircrafts of similar capabilties cost over $20 million a unit. This looks good for export purposes and PAF has plans to do that after it gets the license to manufacture this Jet Fighter in Pakistan.

Apart from this I like that MIG-29 and I would definately like to hijack one!
