The FC-1 was originall called the Super F-7, ie J-7, the Chinese version of the MiG-21 ........... The Chinese never had access to advance Russian airframes. The original FC-1 was based upon the MiG-21 airframe ........ as conterarly reported in some Articles as Mig 33 Airframe ............ Later PLA/PLAN/PLAAF Lost interest in the Fighter and refused to buy it ..........so it is Currently being Developed for Pakistan and for Export to other countries.
