they aren't necessarily trying to kill all of you, not yet. by killing a few (as compared to the total population) and the methods and aparent lack of logic/understanding means that they have done a pretty good job of terrorising the population.
yes they have other goals, they are long term. the purpose of terrorism is to cause terror. simple. hard to stop.
