Whoever said those things is a jack-ss, and I can back that up with common sense. People like that aren't even worth spending time trying to reason with, they're sensationalists, only out to cause a ruckus. They know that people will get really upset, and justifiably so, if they say something like that, and for some odd reason, they get off on it.
In short, it's not worth our time to counter such allegations, it won't matter what we say or do to try to convince them that they are incorrect, because they most likely already know that they are.
Also if that's your friend, I know it's none of my business, but I'd say it was time to start looking for new ones.
