| There are always disputed borders in Latin America. Occasionally Columbia and Panama have their disputes, Venezuela and Columbia and Peru and Ecuador have theirs. It depends on whose Maps or claims you choose to believe.
I've heard that there are attempts to import Islam. But I feel that they will fall far short of what any radical hopes for. Latin America as you know is heavily Roman Catholic not only as a religion but as part of the culture. Protestant Religions have made some small inroads but as a Peruano friends wife told me.... " Yes I go to a Bapitist Church...But I will always be Catholic." I don't think a religion such as Islam will appeal to the people who are targeted by Radical Groups in Latin America, the pobres.
