0311 Reservist not in a Infantry Unit? info

Can an 0311 Marine Reservist, or 03 Marine Reservist, be in a Reserve unit that is not a Infantry unit? I have heard that this is possible. But, it seems kind of a no no to me. Anyone got any info on this?
Thanks for any and all help.

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They\'re aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They\'ve got really short hair and they always go for the throat. [RAdm. \"Jay\" R. Stark, USN; 10 November 1995]

Right, I'll give him a call. Also, I can call 1-800-MARINES too, right?
Thanks,

1-800-MARINES works too ...i really dont think its possible b/c you wont be able to train in your MOS w/ that reserve unit. but just like 03 said its a question for your recruiter.

Last I knew was that it was possible, depends upon what units are in your area. There is a kid I know that is an 11 that has to drive 2 hours for his weekend. it all depends upon what is in your area.
