| Optio | Post; 0311 Marine Reservist at a Non-Infantry Unit?I have a question about the USMCR. I live in OR and am looking into going in the USMCR while in college. I want the MOS of 0311 (Rifleman), but, the only Reserves unit in Oregon are Engineer Units. I have however heard that I could be an 0311 Marine Reservist and go to a different type of Unit, for example an Engineer Unit, and just get some on the job training if needs be, or go to Engineering school, if I wanted to. Is this true? If so, and if I didn't go to Engineer School what kind of work would I expect? Thanks, Lamm
